A fairly typical fraternity - though much less tolerant of drunkenness and much, much more benign than Psi Delta Xi - Tau Omicron Mu is widely known on campus for its standards of physical and academic excellence. All of its members participate in campus athletics at least on the intramural level, and many of Greyson's star varsity players are well-respected brothers. The fraternity practically exudes heterosexual masculinity; they're not actively, visibly homophobic, but seem to avoid gay pledges rather neatly, and, strangely, no matter how scrawny the pledge, each and every Tau Omicron brother seems to bulk out, beef up and generally become much more ruggedly handsome. It's a rare coed who doesn't develop even a tiny crush on at least one Tau Omicron member during their career. Envied and respected by men, lusted after by women, even tolerated with a resigned shrug by the more intellectual, liberal and general GLBT communities on campus, the brothers of this fraternity truly seem to have it all.

Tau Omicron Mu is most closely consistently affiliated with Beta Kappa Mu, the sorority of female athletes on campus.
